You will need these things :-
• One tablespoon olive or canola oil
• Medium sized onion (chopped)
• Two large sized carrots which you have to cut into 1/8-inch half moons
• Bay leaves (2), One teaspoon kosher salt, Grounded black pepper
• Two sprigs fresh thyme or one teaspoon thyme (dried)
• One teaspoon fresh winter savory or fresh summer savory (non-compulsory)
• Six cups of water or all-natural vegetable soup
• One and half cups of green or brown lentils & half cup of red lentil.
• One potato (medium) which you have to peel and dice into 1/2-inch pieces
• 1⁄4 cup parmesan grated cheese or butter (non-compulsory)

Firstly, pre heat the oil in the pressure cooker over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about two minutes until they get soft. Put in the chopped carrots and sauté for another few minutes. Then add the bay leaves, thyme, savory, water or broth, lentils, potato and start stirring.
Close and lock the pressure cooker lid and let the mixture to cook over high temperature until the cooker reach high pressure. You can reduce the heat to maintain pressure for few minutes. The lentils and potato will boil properly this way.
Remove the cooker from heat and let the pressure come down naturally. After removing the lid, you can take out the bay leaves, thyme stems, and add salt and black pepper according to your taste. Top with butter or grated Parmesan cheese if you want to.
